Leviticus 11:44a

I am the Lord your God; consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy.

If there is anything that God defines himself as, it is holy. He is consistent from beginning to end and He is completely different from all of His creation. That is why he tells us to consecrate ourselves, for God is so different that we will miss him if we don’t take time and effort to set ourselves apart.
