Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
The elder statesman Paul is encouraging the young minister Timothy by saying that it is a noble thing to give the best years of your life to serving God and His purposes. The great need for a new generation to flee evil desires and take hold of God’s plan should stoke our prayers.
