Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.
This may seem like a difficult passage, but think of the time that Paul was writing it. The Roman Empire ruled with an iron fist, yet that was the environment where the church flourished. It seems that the gospel is not limited by a government or an economy.
