Mark 6:4

Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own town, among his relatives and in his own home.” He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them. He was amazed at their lack of faith

Jesus marveled that he could do no great miracles among the community that remembered the humble beginnings of Joseph and Mary. Familiarity is a powerful obstacle to receiving from God, for we remember when people were not in the position they are today. Can we honor people that God is honoring, or do we keep them trapped in their past?  ~ Dave Whitehead, Senior Pastor, GraceNYC.org
