1 Corinthians 1:11-12

My brothers and sisters, some from Chloe’s household have informed me that there are quarrels among you. What I mean is this: One of you says, “I follow Paul”; another, “I follow Apollos”; another, “I follow Cephas”; still another, “I follow Christ.”

Paul was shocked when he heard of the divisions based upon personalities among the Corinthian believers! Whereas there is a beauty in the distinctiveness of organizations that represent Jesus Christ, our identity should not be primarily in an organization or a personality, but in Christ Himself. May we celebrate our differences while we adhere to Christ as our primary leader. This can help us stem many of the quarrels that plague the Body of Christ today.  ~ Dave Whitehead, Senior Pastor, GraceNYC.org
