Luke 10:21

At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.

What are the implications of this Scripture? That no matter how much we study or learn, our dependence is upon the Father to open our hearts to understand the Scripture. So prayer and study should go hand in hand, for study without prayer is an exercise in intellectual vanity, and prayer without study produces spirituality with no grounding. Both are necessary to walk in what the Father reveals.  ~ Dave Whitehead, Senior Pastor, GraceNYC.org
