Galatians 3:16

The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say “and to seeds,” meaning many people, but “and to your seed,” meaning one person, who is Christ.

It is amazing that the apostle Paul saw the promise to Abraham as a promise of the Messiah, yet the New Testament writers saw Jesus throughout the Old Testament. The water that came from the rock that Moses struck was Christ; the prophet Joel foretold the Spirit being poured out through Christ; the Psalms were written to describe Christ’s sufferings. It seems that Jesus is present from Genesis forward. He truly is the Alpha and Omega.  ~ Dave Whitehead, Senior Pastor, GraceNYC.org
