His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, according to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.
The word “manifold” means “many faced”. The church is meant to display the many ways that God wants to interact with his creation. When God’s people get this heavenly reality, we can celebrate the differences that each communities of faith displays. Our view of the church can expand to the point that we can work with other churches for, according this passage, one church doesn’t have it all.
