On reaching the place, he said to them, \u201cPray that you will not fall into temptation.\u201d He withdrew about a stone\u2019s throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed, \u201cFather, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Jesus was about to step into the greatest challenge of His earthly identity \u2013 His death upon a cross. As this event unfolds we see the Son of God still caring for his disciples. He took them to a familiar place; He prepared them to resist temptation; then He shielded them from the agony that His soul was beginning to experience. The cross was the most barbaric form of execution of His day, yet the greater cup that Jesus was to drink was the cup of God\u2019s wrath against sin. Jesus obedience at the Garden of Gethsemane redeemed Adam\u2019s disobedience in the Garden of Eden.
