For many will come in my name, claiming, \u2018I am the Messiah,\u2019 and will deceive many.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Taught during the last week of His life, Jesus was giving His followers some strong boundaries so that they would not fall away after He was gone. Here he talks of people who say that they are the Christ (\u201canointed one\u201d). Notice the word \u201cdeceive\u201d. To be deceived is to not know the difference between the truth and a falsehood \u2013 they both look the same. There are many voices today that proclaim to be God\u2019s anointed, but Jesus explicitly tells us that He is God\u2019s final statement to humanity.
