What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, \u201cIf it is the Lord\u2019s will, we will live and do this or that.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>James reminds us that we are not in charge of our future. This is not a doctrine to avoid planning as much as it is the antidote to the anxiety that we feel when we try to control things that we ultimately can\u2019t control. We are not the masters of the universe, and when we think that we are dysfunction usually follows. So trust in the God who sees your every need, and humble yourself about what you can or can\u2019t do.
