Scripture does not say \u201cand to seeds,\u201d meaning many people, but \u201cand to your seed,\u201d meaning one person, who is Christ.<\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It is amazing that the apostle Paul saw the promise to Abraham as a promise of the Messiah, yet the New Testament writers saw Jesus throughout the Old Testament. The water that came from the rock that Moses struck was Christ; the prophet Joel foretold the Spirit being poured out through Christ; the Psalms were written to describe Christ\u2019s sufferings. It seems that Jesus is present from Genesis forward.
